AVS (Adcock Veterinary Service) is an Equine only Veterinary practice established in 1980 and serves the Athens, Texas and surrounding area. The practice offers professional and emergency services for your horses with both mobile and in clinic options. Our goal is to provide quality and affordable health care for your equine, putting the needs of your individual horses first.

Location:

AVS is located south of Athens on FM 753 about nine tenths of a mile from Hwy 19.

The entrance is wide and there is plenty of space in front of the clinic to turn around if you don’t feel comfortable backing a trailer.

We also have an unloading area where trailers can be backed up to safely load or unload lame or sedated horses without having to jump in or out of the trailer.

SERVICES:

General Equine Healthcare

Including both routine and preventative care, vaccinations, Coggins tests and health certificates.

Diagnostic exams

Exams and consultation for medical and performance issues including lameness.

Dentistry

Routine, geriatric and performance evaluation and treatment. Dr. Adcock has over thirty years of experience in equine dentistry.

Reproductive services

Breeding soundness exams, reproductive diagnostics including sonograms, cultures, biopsies, and related treatment. We offer breeding services with both cooled shipped semen and frozen semen.

Diagnostic Imaging

Digital radiography, endoscopy and sonograms.

Emergency services

Mobile and in clinic services including after hours.
